The important of sleeping

Your personal hygiene is excellent. But if your sleep hygiene looks like this…You’re in need of a deep clean. Hi, my name is Jason, a One Medical Provider. Are you a dream doctor?A hundred percent real, so I'll be 100% real with you. Without high-quality sleep, we not only disrupt our daybut we put ourselves at increased risk of heart disease, kidney disease, stroke, and diabetes Sleep is integral to our long term health.

You’re telling me to think about sleep hygiene the same way as deodorant?Non-negotiable. Exactly. Poor sleep puts us at increased risk of depression, cognitive dysfunction and might impair our school and work performance. Not to mention increased risk of accidents. Not good. Okay. . .  what do we do?First, establish a routine.  Go to sleep and wake up on a set schedule, even on the weekend.  Aim for 7-8 hours. Second, create an environment made for sleep. Your bedroom should be completely dark, cool in temperature and free from screens. Undisrupted sleep is essential for weight control, hormonal balance and immunity. Third, craft a healthy lifestyle. Get plenty of exercise.  Eat clean, whole foods while avoiding alcohol before bed. And make stress reduction a habit.  Deep breathing, meditation and yoga are all helpful tools to try. Mmmm. . .  it really works. So there you have it folks. To really function at the best of your mental and physical abilities, make this as important as this.
